RegBase: A regeneration database

beta cat1

Beta catenin pathway in S. Mediterranea

RegbaseTM is a systems biology database that contains data from the scientific literature in human and machine readable formats.  RegbaseTM is both table-oriented for traditional SQL type searches and computer oriented using the SBGN systems biology markup format.  SBGN allows capture of temporal, entity relationships and activity flow. The initial focus is on compiling data from organisms with impressive regenerative potential including planaria, axolotls, newts, salamanders and zebrafish. Organisms such as mice and humans with more limited regenerative potential will be added for comparison.  Software tools to query and analyze the database are under development.
